Commissioned Paintings

Although I love working with fabric and textiles, occasionally I will take a commission to create a painting or drawing.   Working in a variety of artistic media allows me to get back to my fine arts "roots" and keep my design skills sharp.   Here are a few projects where I enjoyed breaking away from fabric... at least temporarily!

Boston Skyline Acrylic and metallic paint, ink, canvas 24" x 72" Original Design © copyright 2006 This painting was commissioned by Centerpoint Advisors.  It is currently on display at their corporate headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts.

Boston Skyline shown here from the side, to show the dimensionality of the canvases.

This collection of 11 canvases features the Boston Skyline, including Longfellow Bridge over the Charles River. The customer provided a photo on which to base the design, and gave general color preferences.

Four Seasons Acrylic, canvas 24" x 24" each Original Design © copyright 2005 This set of 4 paintings was commissioned in 2005 and is now part of a private collection.   The images were based on a series of photographs I took of a tree in my neighborhood, during different seasons.

Herb Garden Oil, tile Approximately 5" x 11" each Original Design © copyright 2000 This series of mini-murals were painted directly onto the tile of a client's kitchen backsplash/wall.
